The Opera house is the incarnation of the whole area around. In the middle of the Haussmann new streets, it was made to be a center of sociality, like the cafes or the covered passages around.
Because it was unthinkable in the past to go to the opera without your best dress or suit, the department stores are right behind it and the banks in the streets nearby, just in case.
The Opera Quarter is an unmissable if you like luxury, elegance and glitters.

From what age is the tour recommended?
This tour can easily be adapted for children. Thematics are : 19th century way of living, development of transports and leisures and a bit of architecture. I recommend this tour from 8 years old.
How long is the tour?
If you need a short version (family tours or just because you prefer), 2 hours is the minimum to appreciate the Opera Quarter. If you are in no hurry, a 3 hours tour is valued to discover more: covered passages, department stores and insolite places.
Is the price different to visit the inside of Opera house?
As long as the tour doesn't exceed 3 hours, the price doesn't change. Count at least one hour to visit the Opera house. Tickets are not included so you must add the fares for the museum (see Contact me section).
Is there a day we cannot make this tour?
No, the tour happens rain or shine.
Is there a lot of walk?
The tour is between 1.1 and 1.7 miles long. Breaks are possible on the way.
Is this visit wheelchair accesible ?
Yes, the tour is wheelchair accessible. A readaptation is necessary but nothing impossible.
Good to know
There are not many free toilets on the way, it is better to keep small change (50 cts, 80 cts) just in case.
Dress apropriately for the weather.
There are drinking fountains on the way to fill a bottle in case of heat. And don't worry: tap water is the most controlled food product in France.
